Yeah its just quite good isnt it? The crazy negativity online is mainly down to people who play the online mode a lot and frankly that sounds like a miserable thing to do to yourself, to play a game like mario kart competitively.

A clear frame? Altho that looks a bit like a rear frame to me.

Batmans reputation as a master detective despite relying on a magic computer to do most of the work is always funny to me and this fun one panel comic captures the weirdness of it perfectly. I love it!

Theres a very funny bit in the pilot for TAS where batman plays a recording of ManBat's horrifying shreik to the guy who is secretly ManBat. He tells him its actually two overlapping bird calls. Later we see batman at his computer playing back both birdcalls and hes like wait a minute...

Okay well thats just another reason to not chase the current state of the art photorealistic graphics and instead go for a less taxing and ultimately more timeless art style imo.
November 14, 2025 at 10:34 PM
Yeah sure but when people complain about it they're specifically complaining about the uncanny valley effect. Toy story was photo realistic for its time too but its only the scenes that include people that have aged like milk. Thats what people dont like.

This is why i like the steam deck so much, valve dont care if you even run steam OS on the thing. Use linux, install windows. Do whatever who gives a fuck its great

You can get around the ussue by loging into hotel wifi on your phone and create a hotspot to get around it. Nintendo would rather have you do that than try to create an airtight browser app.
November 14, 2025 at 10:06 PM
The og switch did have a browser just for wifi login and suprise it got hacked and used for other stuff. The wii had a browser and it got hugely hacked and used for homebrew and stuff. I'd prefer nintendo just made an open system and didnt care but i can see why they didnt bother with switch 2

Reminds me of a road near me that has proximity activated lamp posts that trigger only when you're about a meter away so if you walk there late at night you're repeatedly being blinded then walking into darkness.

To go off the lego movie example theres probably a lot of stuff that's off about how the characters are rendered but you dont notice because its not uncanny to see errors in a plastic world. When it came time to include humans the movie switched to live action.
November 14, 2025 at 8:38 PM
The issue with photorealism has never been in rendering realistic materials, but in depicting human beings with tech that cant do so convincingly. A photo realistic depiction of puppets which themselves are non realistic depictions of humans isnt gong to feel uncanny the same way.

Its so crazy to me that the last guy in charge of superman movies was simultaneously on record as being a huge fan og Jack Kirby's work, but also hated jimmy olsen and had him shot in the head instead of doing anything with the hundreds if insane jimmy olsen stories Jack Kirby wrote.

If i was in charge the next bond would open with the missile crater. James bond will sit up, covered in soot like an exploded luney tunes character. He wipes off the soot and reveals he's a new actor. The movie will never mention nanobots or his family.

To be even more fair when the movie came out in theatres, moviegoers were given a printout with a glossary of terminology in the hope that it would make the movie easier to follow.

Its such a funny scene to me, we see crazy interesting shit happening in the dream world right of the bat, some guy basically says actually we please dont do stuff like this cause it ruins the verisimilitude of the dream world and then nothing like it ever happens again for the entire movie.

30 pages doesnt sound like much, and we still have a way to go but im proud of myself for sticking with it this long. Still got a chunk of chapter one and 3 more chapters to go after that. Looking forward to sharing more of my silly bunny comic. 2/2

What is this, some kind of radical highway???

Ah dangit im trying not to buy more games rn, but this looks really cute and the reviews say it plays a bit like ratchet and clank, which sounds like an inspired choice for a roguelite kinda game. Onto my backlog it goes while the release discount is still up.

My entire thoughts on Phil Fush are that I'd have loved to play fez 2, but hope hes happier having logged off.

I had been watching a lot of TOS when i first watched V and i feel like 'focus on the big interpersonal drama and high concepts being discussed and pay less attention to the actual mechanics of the storyline' is the way to enjoy both lol
November 6, 2025 at 2:17 PM
Star Trek V has its problems but I genuinely think it's the closest movie to capturing the feel of the original series and its shonkiness actually contributes to that significantly. 'I need my pain' and 'what would god need with a starship' are also peak kirk and i wont hear otherwise.

Undiscovered country is my fave Startrek Movie and while your crit has merit i will unconditionally enjoy any movie that features a weird space prison complete with escape sequence.
