Gonna repost a comic I did last year about JD Vance, an alum of the high school where I’ve been teaching for the better part of the last two decades.
HGTV is about to air a House Hunters filmed in Cincinnati. I live around Cincinnati. Let’s see!

Whatever new thing gets made in the next 3 to 5 years… I hope it has Mad Max in it for more than a cameo or secondary role.

I loved Fury Road as much as the next guy… but both that film and Furiosa massively undervalued the character of Mad Max.

Woke up ready to draw but my iPad is shitting the bed so instead of drawing I’m doing maintenance and whatnot.

Shocking score tonight at the used book store: A brace of Love & Rockets accidentally dumped in the $1 magazine section including the much-vaunted issue 24…

I hope this is a hit for the sake of all the comic book stores out there but jeez I don’t have any skin in the game on this.

I work in a dying steel town. All the institutions that used to make the community work have either been co-opted by big corporations and bled dry or left by the wayside in favor of modernity… so yeah, I enjoyed the first episode of The Paper.

This might end up being bad BUT the collective cultural vibe I’m getting from the spots on the Internet I still deign to visit? STUPID.

GREG DANIELS. Do we not respect people’s batting averages anymore? He’s a home run king when it comes to sitcoms.

Give it a shot before you dog on it, right?

Indian Summer (1993) is a better “assholes in the 1990’s reunite” movie than Beautiful Girls (1996)… but I believe we do not get to choose our vices and Beautiful Girls is one of mine.

Interested to read this @avclub.com piece. As a teacher working in Middletown Ohio who uses a chapter of Hillbilly Elegy in his classroom, I searched high and low for quotes on Howard’s feelings about his collaboration with JD Vance.

There wasn’t much before the press tour for his new movie.
Ron Howard's Eden press tour has way more JD Vance questions than he'd probably like

I’m watching Alien: Earth right now… and this franchise is so weird.

Lately I feel like everything in the world that I care about is slowly coming undone.

Also took the kids to see Fantastic Four: First Steps this afternoon and… it was as good as it had to be, no more. Never quite kicked into high gear.

Lots of great visuals harkening back to Kirby, great practical sets and Galactus looked WONDERFUL… but some of the flick just felt a little… sweaty.

Finished the King of Hill reboot today but y’know… it’s not a reboot. It’s a proper Season 14, engaging with the history of KotH in surprisingly deep, emotional, and above all FUNNY ways.

I remain completely impressed with the attention to detail and the care taken not just to “play the hits.”

My favorite relationship on Northern Exposure is Joel and Chris’ friendship.
