🏆Beyond honoured that our investigation, “Torture in Azerbaijan: How European Funds Flow to Baku’s Prisons,” has been awarded the 2025 #EuropeanPressPrize Special Award, alongside our colleagues in the The Baku Connection consortium, led by @forbidden-stories.bsky.social 🧶

While I’m immensely proud to have coordinated this 5-month effort, it’s also the saddest sequel I’ve ever been part of. 9 months later, the number of journalists killed has risen to over 170. Among them was Mahmoud Isleem Al-Basos, who filmed for the #GazaProject just a week before he was targeted.
