I've never been able to open this thing (probably shouldn't, on account of CRTs being lethal and all) but, peeking through the cart slot, I did notice a little Triforce symbol on the board inside. I'm assuming someone put that there to help seal whatever's behind that unopenable gate on the side.

The box shows yet another name ("Mini Computer") and has artwork of a baby using the console (maybe that's the actual "Smart Child"). It also shows a cassette recorder connected to the side, somehow? All that's there is a mysterious gate that doesn't seem to open unless you break it. I'm afraid to.

I have one of these bootleg Famicoms, only it's called "Smart Child" for some reason. Got it really cheap from someone who needed the closet space. (It has been pointed out that the child doesn't look particularly smart, or maybe his vision is just fucked up from squinting at the built-in screen.)

This is really cool: a new* SNES Mario game made under the limitations of '90s Satellaview broadcasts (only 1MB and no special chips), released exclusively via the Satellaview+ revival, featuring levels based on SML2, SMB2, and of course that weird SMW bootleg on NES www.youtube.com/watch?v=mkGC...

UPDATE: The Satellaview Spirit Halloween has been destroyed. The evil is vanquished.

Wow, you can even pick between the two sexual orientations in this game

Gotta go with Pokémon Moss and the peepee email (secret test messages in the cartridge that let you send and receive emails on your Game Boy Color) tcrf.net/Mobile_Train...

Here's the audio quality you can expect from the Mario Party mic, a device meant for shouting "jump!" and definitely not voice chat (video stolen from Discord). The modder also tried to add support for text chat with the ridiculous GameCube keyboard controller, but alas that only works on emulator.

Update: I CAN become God.

(...to no one, since this isn't out yet, but still.)

Picturing it like this but without Nelson.

There's a big chance no one had seen Homeland's matchmaking settings page since 2007, which revealed something interesting: even though this game only came out in Japan, you could search for Gods (host GameCubes) in other continents. I agree with my OCR program's translation of "North America" btw.
October 20, 2025 at 11:46 PM
Been helping test the revived matchmaking server for Homeland, where host players are called "Gods," which resulted in my GameCube giving me this error message. Very rude thing to say to me, GameCube. How dare you.

These are fun! And there's DEFINITELY nothing strange going on with the accompanying comic if you scroll up.

Realized the Winamp visualizer looks a lot like the backgrounds for some shoot em ups. Then realized you can set the background to any color in Dezaemon, the SNES shoot em up creator on Satellaview, so...

They're gonna start doing this with every Leonard Cohen song

OK I looked it and this looks nothing like the dividing Beanie Babies in court photo. That one's a lot more dignified.

Made this sprite hack (based on a Shy Guy sprite by skovacs1 alttp.mymm1.com/sprites/?met...) but since I only know how to edit the Girl character, this means the game's gender options for me are now "Boy" and "Jason"

The Satellaview+ Spirit Halloween is back, and this time it's extra spooky. Perhaps... perhaps TOO spooky. It even seems to be affecting the town's residents.

TIL that Dezaemon, the SNES game where you create your own shoot-em-up, has a hidden message warning about "a dangerous secret" that took 27 years to be solved. (It's so dangerous that Google refuses to translate this page about it, hence the Discord screenshots) thanks-pawapass.info/hiroomin/dez...

My ridiculously low poly N64 car may look completely stupid, but at least it's road sa-- oh no. oh nooooooo
October 8, 2025 at 9:47 PM
Tried to make a car on Mario Artist on the N64 but this mode barely has any polygons and it came out all crappy. Look at this stupid piece of shit. Try to imagine that in real life.

Back in the day, whenever I started watching a trailer I was constantly saying "Has it started? Is this the trailer? Has the trailer started? Am I watching the trailer now?" But not anymore!

The reason I can't buy this bootleg NES shaped like a laptop with a built-in LCD screen is that I already own a different, much uglier bootleg NES shaped like a laptop with a built-in LCD screen, without the fake Windows aesthetic. At least I can confirm it comes with all the classics.

I don't know what the hell they do with the extra four buttons on NES games (turbo and EXTRA turbo?) but yeah these rule
