A can of ‘You Win!’ By Pressure Drop next to a glass with the beer in it. I’m not a fruit expert. The beer is hazy and golden and in a small two thirds of a pint glass. In the background is a Pressure Drop brewery sign and a fridge stocked with their beers. It’s the taproom, basically.

In other news, ELB continue their stealth takeover of Walthamstow. Their beers are now available at Walthamstow FC and the club chairman suggested they’re going to make a Walthamstow FC exclusive beer.

Just over fifty pages in to this and I’m already blown away by the quality of the writing. It’s beautiful.

Today’s beer and book pairing matches Salena Godden’s excellent memoir of growing up in 80s small town England, Springfield Road, with a Pretty Decent NEIPA called Must Be Nice Up There. The book has been a revelation. Beautifully written and incredibly evocative of the author’s young life.

Today needed a big beer.

Just finished The First Circle. The Nobel Prize panel in 1970 knew what they were talking about. Excellent read.

A beer pump with an oval clip advertising a beer called Lay Down My Bones at 4.8%. Around the edge is the name of the brewery, Queer Brewing, and the beer style, American Brown Ale. Next stop for the #BeerPassport day is the infinitely more chill and friendly Mondo Brewery. Again the offer was the flight but I think I’ve managed to choose two beers I’ve had before. Still, the beer is better here and the staff way more friendly. #BskyBeer #BeerSky (I’ve forgotten the hashtag.)

Kicking off another #BeerPassport adventure at Battersea Brewery in the shadow of the iconic former power station. Offer was for 50% off a flight so I went for a West Coast, a NEIPA, a Red Ale and a Stout. #BeerSky

Went for their green hop beer Cascade on cask.
