All of the Absolute books (minus GL) were in the top 10, even with some of them 10+ issues in.

In many cases, the writing in superhero comics is much less important (and lower quality) than the art.

Imagine picking up New Frontier and reading it for the story and dialogue lol

We don’t deserve Javier Rodriguez, man. But I’m glad he’s on this title. Camp’s writing is excellent, but it’s the art that’s elevated this to modern classic status.

Reminds me of seeing Mitch Gerads’ work on Mister Miracle and instantly realizing I was reading a hall of fame book.

The less said about the art the better, but it’s clear that the artist needed more time to develop their skills before being put on a major book like this, which DC should have recognized.

REALLY enjoyed the Brainiac issue. This is what I’m talking about: there are moments of brilliance but they’re too far apart.

Wonder Woman is one of my favorite DC characters—I’m so glad she’s got an ongoing that’s fully worthy of her.

And Hayden Sherman is killing it, obv.

Every issue of Absolute Batman has one goal: be as 🔥⛓️🎸 EXTREME as possible.

IDK if Alfred saying “Batman AF” or Bane being kaiju sized makes for good comics, but it’s definitely entertaining!

Absolute Batman is Scott Snyder operating in full-on metalhead bimbo mode.

Dragotta is the real star of the book—doesn’t really work if he’s not drawing.

Utterly stupid, a lot of fun: 8/10 🦇
