My early Sunday evening soundtrack is Joe Henderson’s Inner Urge (1964). A hammer of an album that features Henderson along with McCoy Tyner, Elvin Jones, and Bob Cranshaw. A hard bop classic… Crucial. #jazz

I caught Ravi Coltrane live a year ago at The Village Vanguard and he was brilliant. At that show he paid tribute to the great Wayne Shorter who had recently passed away; now I get to see him pay tribute to his father in January. I cannot wait.
