Finally got started on The Great Wave Lego set and…it’s great. Loving it so far and the kids are joining in, making it our first family Lego project! #art #lego #greatwave #collector

Bit late posting this one but I finally finished the second of my three birthday legos. A Star Wars set was a great throwback! Plus, now my kids can play with the ‘rocket ship’! #lego #starwars #collector #fun

The Tallneck build is complete! Ended up with a missing piece but rigged it up with some of the left over bits. As the first Lego set I have attempted in nearly a decade I had a ton of fun and I really enjoyed the build and all the tiny details! On to the next one! #lego #gaming #horizon #build

Progress on the Lego build continues apace. This is the sum total of bags 4 and 5. Really enjoying this build and the clever ways it is coming together #lego #horizon #gaming #collector

Just wrapped Journey, ticking another game off the backlog. This was a short but very sweet experience with some incredible art design and a hauntingly beautiful soundtrack. I don’t usually take screenshots but I was compelled to this time. One of those games where gaming and art collide. Video soon

Being the grown up 37 year old man I am, I naturally got Lego for my birthday. I had imagined doing a build update as I have been doing a bag a day. Anyway, of course I forgot to take a photo of bag one complete but here is the base completed. A sum total of the first 3 bags. #lego #gaming

Absolutely buzzing to get started on this incredible, and timely, play with a talented cast of young folks

No. 1 - Indiana Jones and the Great Circle

This game IS Indiana Jones. The globe trotting, the ancient puzzles to solve, the facists to punch! Big props to voice actor Troy Baker who nails a young Harrison Ford. The Great Circle is the best the series has been since The Last Crusade.

No. 2 - Silent Hill 2 Remake

Did I enjoy playing Silent Hill 2? Not really. Did I experience Silent Hill 2? Absolutely. From its creeping sense of dread, its palpable melancholy to the eerie, fog filled town of Silent Hill itself. Graphically, it’s superb and the voice acting is excellent.

No. 3 - Astrobot

This is one of the single best platformers that I have ever played. It’s inventive on an absolutely bonkers level, with tight and satisfying controls. It’s also a love letter to PlayStation and its history. This is one of the few games where I applauded as the credits rolled.

No. 4 - Dragon Age: The Veilguard

I loved the action focused gameplay, the more tightly structured open zone environments and the colourful cast of companions. It also tied up a lot of the narrative threads that had been dangling from the previous games and brought them to a satisfying conclusion.

No. 5 - Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy

Another game with a stellar narrative, beautifully designed locations and incredible voice acting. The gameplay can get repetitive, but it does a great job of making you feel like the Guardians. Plus, this game has a banging soundtrack.

No. 6 - Alan Wake 2

Man, this is a heck of a game. It’s not just the graphics, it’s not just the gameplay but the way Remedy mix their mediums that make this stand out. Whether it’s music, live action or the connections to the wider RCU, there is no better studio working on narrative than Remedy.

No. 7 - Firewatch

I was very impressed with the visual style and the voice acting. It's compelling narrative kept me engaged. I also enjoyed the feeling of isolation, apart from a voice on the radio, you never encounter anyone in the game, just what they leave behind. Top stuff!

No. 8 - Final Fantasy VII Remake

I never completed the original FFVII but I enjoyed this expansion of the story and the increased focus on Midgar. A more action driven battle system and some fun Materia customization, as well as some interesting meta narrative twists meant I enjoyed this one.

No. 9 - Resident Evil 4 Remake

I finally got around to completing this and it’s a blast. The updates and additions really highlight what a fun entry this is. It’s a bit more of an action game than survival horror but it’s campy enough that it fits in tonally with the other games in the franchise.

No. 10 - The Legend of Zelda: The Minish Cap

For me, this is up there with the best 2D Zelda games. The tight dungeon structure and familiar world, combined with the fun shrinking mechanic, made this a memorable romp through Hyrule.
