It would appear @eastlothiancouncil.bsky.social think the National Cycle Network in Musselburgh is an appropriate place to dump rubble. How odd. @spokes.org.uk @edi.bike @edcriticalmass.bsky.social @shona-mcintosh.bsky.social

Remembered to take my "bins" on my way past Musselburgh lagoons today. Lots to see. Hundreds of lapwing, greylag geese and oystercatchers. Also a curlew or two, a heron, a swan, and in the distance, apparently, a ruff!

I don't know who signed off the stopping up order for the cycle path between Edinburgh Park and Hermiston Gait but their idea of an 'alternative route' leaves a lot to be desired! @edinburghcouncil.bsky.social @spokes.org.uk @edi.bike #EdTravCyc

🚳Watch out if you like a cycle along Fisherrow Links in Musselburgh - the path from the Electric Bridge to the pumping station, past the skate ramp is closed to bikes due to Scottish Water works until mid-Dec. Easy alternative via New St. On foot, you can still get through. @spokes.org.uk

Nothing to see here, just Big Ag lobbying the deputy FM to ignore expert advice on the climate crisis. Cool cool cool

This is so sad to see.

The Sula Sgeir guga hunt has happened.

Up to 500 juvenile gannets bashed in the head, because "tradition".

Inhumane and totally unnecessary in today's society.

An outdated loophole in law that needs closed.

Who needs the Proms and the Albert Hall when you have the Lammermuir festival and the Corn Exchange in Haddington! Max Richter's version of Vivaldi's Four Seasons, performed by members of the National Youth Orchestra of Scotland, led by violin powerhouse Elena Urioste. My jaw literally dropped. 😍🎶🎻

Worth noting this time last year choc Santas were a whole pound cheaper. Inflation, cocoa bean crisis, price gouging? I'm expecting 1,000 words on this from @alphaville.ft.com at any moment.

Lovely to catch up with folk from the Scottish Agroecology Partnership outside parliament, calling for better support for small farmers, crofters and market gardeners. Good chats about animal welfare. I also met a collie, and had some wonderful veggie stew. 😋

Fab afternoon joining @edcriticalmass.bsky.social. So important to show the need for safe cycling space. And have fun while doing so! ❤️🚲

Tiresome stuff in the P&J from Iain Maciver, attempting to defend the cruel and unnecessary killing of hundreds of baby gannets. He says the method of dispatch is rapid but what is his evidence? He ignores the distress the birds, both juvenile and adult, must experience as the removal takes place...

BBC Scotland's coverage of the guga hunt story made me sick. Pro-hunt interviewee allowed to waffle about 'urbanites with morals'. As he describes cooking gannets the presenter *laughs*, asking what it tastes like. 'It's put me off my tea' she giggles to the weatherman coz it's an 'and finally'. 🤮

First of this year's buried treasure, aka potatoes, unearthed from the plot. The courgette glut begins. Beautiful skies at dusk. #allotment

Our regular evening garden visitor, sniffing for slugs. We leave out a bowl of water for her. She also seems partial to crumbs from the suet-filled bird feeders. ❤️🦔
