There are better ways to have fun in the run up to Christmas, without causing these beautiful gentle creatures psychological stress and physical fatigue. It's not too late for event organisers to do the right thing. ❤️🦌 news.stv.tv/scotland/ani...

It would appear @eastlothiancouncil.bsky.social think the National Cycle Network in Musselburgh is an appropriate place to dump rubble. How odd. @spokes.org.uk @edi.bike @edcriticalmass.bsky.social @shona-mcintosh.bsky.social

Remembered to take my "bins" on my way past Musselburgh lagoons today. Lots to see. Hundreds of lapwing, greylag geese and oystercatchers. Also a curlew or two, a heron, a swan, and in the distance, apparently, a ruff!

Thanks to @emmaroddicksnp.bsky.social for raising the impact of fireworks on animals at First Minister's Questions. The delay to the licensing aspect of the Fireworks Act is hugely frustrating. The suffering animals continue to endure is deeply upsetting: www.onekind.org/blog/firewor...

I don't know who signed off the stopping up order for the cycle path between Edinburgh Park and Hermiston Gait but their idea of an 'alternative route' leaves a lot to be desired! @edinburghcouncil.bsky.social @spokes.org.uk @edi.bike #EdTravCyc

What courage Dave has shown. What a horrendous incident. And in the next few years the driver responsible will be able to get back behind the wheel.

🚳Watch out if you like a cycle along Fisherrow Links in Musselburgh - the path from the Electric Bridge to the pumping station, past the skate ramp is closed to bikes due to Scottish Water works until mid-Dec. Easy alternative via New St. On foot, you can still get through. @spokes.org.uk

Industry pushing back because it fears consumers knowing the reality. When a pig is being killed, CO2 painfully dissolves the membranes around its eyes, nose and mouth, then they experience breathlessness, causing them to gulp and panic. It's no way to treat another sentient being. ❤️🐷
The UK pig industry insists CO₂ stunning remains the most humane and efficient method, despite calls for its phased elimination.

I appreciate "UK" is handy shorthand but of course we've had a ban on fracking in Scotland for some years. Both licensing and planning policy are devolved.

This is so sad to see.

The Sula Sgeir guga hunt has happened.

Up to 500 juvenile gannets bashed in the head, because "tradition".

Inhumane and totally unnecessary in today's society.

An outdated loophole in law that needs closed.

Excuse me if I prefer to follow the advice of Scotland's chief nutritionist, who told parliament last week: "The reality is that our diets are so poor that meat has an elevated status. If we ate a healthy, balanced diet, we would not really need to have any meat within that." 🍐🍅🥕🥬🫘🥔
