One day I will figure out how social media works. Natural born killjoy, self-indulgent nerd.
The "torch passing" was half-hearted in the first place, precisely because they didn't want to fully abandon Kiryu. So even with two full games under his belt, Ichiban still feels like he's playing second fiddle to the "real" Yakuza protagonist(s).

If we are being honest, they seem to struggle with letting *any* major character disappear permanently at this point. Kiryu is the most blatant example, but RGG just can't seem to resist bringing back old favorites, no matter who absurd the notion that they are still alive.

There Is also the simple fact that they clearly wanted to wrap up Kiryu's story but didn't have a clear idea of how they should do that. And then they spent another two games basically having a redo because it was so unsatisfying the first time.

His political slogan is "Don't like Schloss? That's your loss!"

Never underestimate the power of cognitive dissonance. They will find a way to make this all conform to their worldview, or else they will reject the evidence of their eyes and ears.

Man it's a good thing that the AI industry isn't inextricably interlinked with various contractual obligations and investments. Otherwise, the failure of one could have a domino effect that takes down the entire industry!

Whenever someone launches a business venture with an incomprehensible business model, I just assume it's some form of money laundering.

To be fair, the Venn diagram between crypto shills and AI stans is basically a circle. If someone is invested in one, you can almost guarantee they're invested in the other, so even if they were unfairly conflated, they are basically destined to drag each other down if/when there's a market downturn

Due to budget cuts, it has been renamed The Oblate Spheroid Suite

And where exactly are they going to hedge this, exactly? On the parts of the economy that *aren't* tied up in AI?

All non-AI parts of the economy have been flatlining for years because AI has been sucking up investment capital. And now suddenly they remember the virtues of diversification?

There's this weirdly common notion that only Democrats have agency in elections. Republicans can never suffer strategic failures or have unpopular policies, because that would imply that they are making conscious decisions and not simply giving Pavlovian responses to Democratic actions.

Thisss isn't about speed of warfare, it's about the speed of approving procurement contracts. Which is less about adopting Nazi tactics and more about adopting Nazi levels of corruption, since fewer controls and less oversight means more opportunities for profit.

Based On seeing the man shout on TV for the past couple of decades, my best guess is "yes."

Because: 1) a lot of people wanted him to beat the more moderate Democratic candidate and don't want to admit that alternative is now off the table, and 2) sunk cost fallacy is a bitch.
