Swifts have declined 70% since 1994.
They fly from Africa to breed here, only to find we've blocked their nest sites.
A £35 swift brick nest box was proposed for all new buildings.
The construction industry lobbied Labour to block it.
Biodiversity sustains life. Labour sustains economic power.

Thanks for all the nice messages folks.
We've had a second inundation, help this time, from friends and neighbours, and the kitchen is now largely dry.
Sadly, in this bit of Welsh speaking Wales they all speak English as a second language, so i'm still calling for them to be deported.

Climate crisis latest!
More heat in the atmosphere means a higher frequency of extreme weather events... which is probably why my house flooded last night.
They've known about this since 1954 - and carried on regardless - so I'll invoice Shell and Esso for the clean up.
Hope you're all dry!

I ran Marathon Eryri on the weekend, saved it all for the last hill and then went head over heels on the final descent (as evidenced by the leg in picture three.) Great fun, would recommend.
