Visiting its Medal of Honor Grove was humbling and peeking inside Washington’s Headquarters was awe-inspiring.

Reading Gordon Wood’s “Empire of Liberty,” and his description of the Thomas Jefferson’s belief in the Embargo Act of 1807 and its subsequent impact reminded me of this classic tweet (apologies for the profanity, but it’s perfect).

I want to thank Florida Society @SarHeadquarters and the Ladies Auxiliary for recognizing me as the Dr. Tom & Betty Lawrence American History Teacher Award winner for Florida last weekend. Being a Sons of the American Revolution compatriot, the honor was even more appreciated.

I cannot convey how honored I am to share that I have been selected as a @JamesMadisonFdn Fellow representing the state of Florida. The program includes a $24,000 scholarship to continue to pursue my MA in American History while participating in the unparalleled Summer Institute.

Finally got to actually use @HarvardHBS' "History of American Democracy" Case Method in a live class yesterday. One of my favorite features: After 90 minutes of interactive discussion, it looks like you accomplished something! Can't wait to run it with another group later today.

I'm ecstatic to share that, as of this month, I have joined the National @ConstitutionCtr's Teacher Advisory Council! Through the end of March, I'll be supporting the center's development of best practices and advising on programs and resources. I honored and can't wait! #NCCed
