Using Google's Notebook LM, I explored the intersection of the BC Ministry of Education's "Considerations for Using AI Tools in K-12 Schools," the OECD's AI Literacy Framework, and UNESCO's "AI Competency Framework for Students" to create this list of ten essential AI competencies for our students.

This year, I'll be launching my classes with this AI integration framework in place.

From day one, my goal is to establish open and productive dialogue about AI with my students.

Unlike many others, I'm feeling optimistic about the future of education.

I've created an AI Chatbot for my Philosophy 12 class on @schoolai.com that pretends to be the Ghost of Jean-Jacques Rousseau.

I look forward to seeing how my students engage with it!

Our next project in my Social Justice 12 class focuses on the power of civil disobedience to affect change.

With all that's transpiring in the world, students may see civil disobedience becoming even more of a news item in the months to come.

I feel for all of my educator colleagues down south.
