On my way from Western NC to Orlando. Sure we had snow in the mountains, but this was along I26 and we continued to see snow as far south as Savanah. Weird.

Hiking in the Blue Ridge mountains on a sunny/snowy/sleet-y day. Just what the doctor ordered.

I’m a cat person. Why do people carry bags for their dog poop, pick it up, then leave it on side of trail or next to where they parked their car?

Happy new years from the land of Ron DeSantis. Enjoying our fire pit with the staccato rattle and boom of fireworks. My cat doesn’t care, but I know a lot of dog owners who are less than thrilled about the ‘celebration’

Sunrise over the Atlantic in 2017. The clouds looked like a mountain range.

Drone show.. weeks ago, before they started falling from the sky and hitting impressionable kids on the head.

Recent addition to my Tesla. Doing the best I can to separate the asshole from my car.

Merry Christmas to all (from Florida)

Sunset in Sedona,AZ. A light rain facilitated a double rainbow. I took this during dinner on the night after our epic Rim to Rim hike in Grand Canyon.

While we were in AZ last March, we stopped at the Big Meteor Crater. Whoa.

The left image shows the entire crater from the observation deck. The right image is zoomed in on the small mine complex at the bottom. There is a dummy in a space suit for scale.

Hiking to Tea Pot Rock in Sedona, AZ. Beautiful hike, beautiful place, beautiful view. Sedona has more beautiful views and interesting spots than almost anywhere.

Hiked this in March 2924.

Hiking in the Painted Desert near Petrified Forest National Park. One of the interesting things about these ridges is that they are basically soft dirt. They crumble if you touch them.

Thankfully they are protected from dumbass 4x4 owners.

This picture showed up on my phone today as one of those random memories. I took this on the side of the road on a February day. No idea what these trees are, but they were everywhere in ‘bloom’.

According to the metadata, Columbus, North Carolina. South of Rutherfordton.

We’re not in Kansas anymore.

Day hike to Superstition Mountain, Lost Dutchman State Park, Pheonix, AZ.

The problem with day hikes is they are just not enough.. not far enough, not to the top, the bottom.. something is left undiscovered or unrevealed.

Bryce is pretty amazing.

Hiking the Dingle Way last summer. The thing I love about Europe is that you can find these old houses or barns randomly. No story or explanation. This place is clearly older than my Country (US).

I always wonder who, when?

Got the Christmas lights up on the house. Those high peaks make me nervous.

On my way home when I spotted a ‘homeless’ guy panhandling at an intersection. I never carry cash. But I have to give him credit.. he found a way to really open up the donation pool. All he needs now is a go fund me.

Feel free to reward his effort.

Part two of my birthday weekend. Half way through a 40 mile gravel bike ride on one of my favorite routes. Like I said before, I ain’t dead yet.

My cat has places throughout my house and yard that he goes at different times of the day. For much of the daylight hours, he posts up on the back of the living room couch to enjoy his ‘cat tv’ through the bay window. Watching neighbors cats come and go.

First act of my birthday weekend.. 6 mile trail run in the crisp 44F air. This is to signify that I ain’t dead yet, and I still have some fight left in me.

A bit of the north coast in southwest Ireland. I can see the draw of the Emerald Isle.

The winter in Florida is just brutal.

Last January, I hiked the Salkantay Trail to Machu Pichu. The guides, accommodations, and food were amazing. Along the way, we overnighted below Humantay Glacier (this is lake below glacier). When you think of Machu Pichu, you don’t think of Humantay. Maybe that is backward?
