🚢 Klimaschocks hinterlassen Spuren!

Alongside the aggressive bravado and Potemkin trade theatrics, Trump's tariffs are about power — rules bent at will, countries pleading for exemptions.

In this context, my colleague’s blunt critique felt refreshingly accurate (if not exactly elegant). As published in the @irishtimes.com.

Long day.

Migrants in Germany are overrepresented in vital job sectors including food production, construction, care work and others. #Destatis via @zdfde.bsky.social #Migration.
The German economy would collapse in many sectors without migration. Some political parties struggle to accept that reality.

📣 New research: The expiry of the US Generalised System of Preferences (GSP) has led to a 5-10% drop in imports from developing countries. This is a blow to exporters, with implications for growth and market access. 🌍

Key takeaways:
1. Trade stability matters for developing nations

Call for Papers!
We are inviting submissions for the GDE conference. If your research is on developing countries, send us your papers.

The GDE is international and anyone is welcome, it is simply called "German" development conference because it is organized by DEU, AUT, and SUI universities.

Mixed origin migration background. Spending the holidays in a major tourist destination country - cutting down trees, weeding, etc.
The famous beaches… I haven’t been once.
But definitely still acing the machete skills!
