NYT framing once again belies reality. These universities cannot meaningfully "get" funding back from a regime that treats Article I of the Constitution like a dead letter.

terrible advice. beyond the fact that it assumes these federal agents aren't actually cops (they are!), it further assumes calling in MORE police will somehow help marginalized communities. at best, local cops will protect the feds. at worst, they will join in arresting and terrorizing people

re: varieties of antislavery - Robert H. Churchill's book "The Underground Railroad and the Geography of Violence in Antebellum America" was an engaging read for me. I think people would find a video on this subject highly informative - particularly the fugitive rescue and rendition attempts

police often (but not always) shoot less-lethals at ground level to skip into crowds. sitting down increases the risk that you get hit directly!
