I keep forgetting how rewarding it is to finish a core feature of something and then making a small bit of UI or command that shows the state of it.

You get to have a Nice Visual for your hard work and see it going somehow.

FInally caved in and vacuumed the electric heating plinth in my office to reduce the Imminent Housefire Scents, before turning it on because my toes were numb.

As it is toasting or slow roasting whatever crud remains in it, it is currently emitting a very […]

Given the memory prices, maybe it's time to bring this back to reflect reality?

I was wondering why my Mastodon instance was chugging and the Sidekiq queue was just not emptying promptly.

It's important to not hide your feelings when writing ansible playbooks.

@0xabad1dea This betrays my age, but living through that era means remember having six of these stacked on top of each other and sometimes moving them to the corner of the screen and pretending all was well so one of the threads of that application could finish whatever it was doing.

God damn I had missed this game.
I swear it had been a recurring thing at the back of my mind ever since I finished it, like "Man, Pacific drive was great. I would love more Pacific Drive."

The DLC secretly dropped yesterday so this is going to be a Good Weekend.

The problem with using software you wrote yourself is that you impulsively add features you feel would improve your life, and then get annoyed at how other parts of the software don't have the same feature.

So I guess I'm adding filtering capabilities to […]

@JessTheUnstill I unironically think about this shitpost at least once a week, and it absolutely is something important to remember

I've been toying with a new feature in Exosphere. I kind of want to be able to both produce file reports and offer a mechanism through which people can make integrations for their own stuff, like notification sinks, discord bot, zigbee powered doorbell over […]

I think I finally coerced Textual into making this dashboard grid reactive.

It resizes itself, changes the number of columns, is scrollable...

It sounds easy but it isn't? Textual Grids are really meant to just fill the entire space as layout elements […]

Well, it's time. I'm releasing my tool that lets you aggregate patch and update status of hosts over ssh on unix-like systems.

The github repository has details as well as links to the exhaustive documentation.

It is my hope that at least another person […]

I think I've reached a compromise I'm happy with for managing the (very few) bits that require privileges in my patch reporting program.

I have explained to the Cat that the bunch of weird computers and random garbage that's populating the bedroom is a temporary affair while I clean up the lab, but I don't think he believes me.

He just doesn't understand why computers, and keeps looking at me like "u ok bro?"
