Thirty years ago today, the third version of Spaceship Earth opened at EPCOT (and in my personal opinion, the best version). It featured beautifully written narration that was performed by actor Jeremy Irons, and a new musical score by Edo Guidotti, based on Bach's Sinfonia No. 2 in C Minor.

EPCOT’s World Showcase Lagoon is encircled by 19 torches, each representing one of the 19 completed centuries over the last 2000 years. These torches serve as symbols of the passage of time and the milestones of human history.
