Thank you for the correction. I hadn't caught the wrong organizational unit named above.

This was a MN DFL event held in Minneapolis

A bit before 7am and the later response to my follow up was around 10am

I ended by requesting a public statement on why this level of security is felt justified and the changes made based on the incident last night.

And I asked whether this security policy has been standard to all Listening Tour events so far and what the response has been.

That’s my plan too. I believe I saw a former DFL candidate trying to get in and running afoul of the unpublished rule as well

I can see some reasoning in having security given events this year, but not telling anyone about it ahead of time is shocking.

If they had this policy at prior events everyone must have had a car to stash stuff in. It completely missed basic event logistics

Security explicitly said they had no place to store things. I just left and I’m going to make a fuss about it because it meant many people couldn’t attend despite being there
November 14, 2025 at 1:46 AM
Thank you for doing that! Guess I should have walked up to strangers and asked if they had a trunk I could use!
November 14, 2025 at 12:51 AM
That was exactly my thought too. It was assumed I’d have a car as any option at all

Hiding the finances for the entire election is egregious. I'm glad the complaint was made. A nightmare scenario would be not doing much here and in future elections campaigns thinking they could get away with it.

Thank you for your work on this!

If I'm reading Maplight correctly, Haynes' campaign filed both missing reports on Nov 9th. minneapolis.maplight.com/public/candi...

I think Franklin to Grant is up for construction next year (or maybe 2027?) but sometime soon it'll be awesome all the way and no construction!

And to Adam's point, the *next* project should be easier because we can point to the street that's working really well after the changes

A friend of mine lives on 1st Ave and he was concerned about the new layout. Now that it's almost done he can see it and likes it!

I biked Hennepin yesterday into downtown and it was just so awesome. Having this type of layout for our arterials would be such an improvement across all modes. Cars were flowing fine, but crossing felt good too

We had trouble getting info on the needle kiosk program scope and funding when looking into it. On Mpls' side, there didn't seem to be much documentation and no MOUs were created between parties. I hope these things have improved!

But definitely about partners not talking to each other
November 11, 2025 at 11:17 PM
That was part of the case: needles are just one form of waste and we need the right way to dispose of it, just like trash, recycling, and compost bins (also on park property)
November 11, 2025 at 10:50 PM
In the end we got it installed on the boulevard, which is city property, which somehow made everyone happy? Took months to resolve and hours of staff and volunteer time

Looks like a little movement since the prior candidate corridor screening. West 7th was added after the local plan fell through, but presenters let us know it would have sat at 4th.
