Hi everyone 👋 We are the Max Planck Institute for Metabolism Research, and we study how the body controls weight and glucose levels. Our long-term goal is to develop treatments for diabetes and obesity! Follow us to keep up to date with our latest discoveries, findings and events! 🧬🔬🧓🧑‍🔬
Yesterday, Marc Tittgemeyer was a guest on nano talk on 3sat. The topic of the programme: Essen mit Risiko - Eating with risk. The programme will be aired tomorrow evening – it's worth tuning in, so don't miss it. 📺

Lean mice that smell food before eating feel full; obese mice don’t. Why?
Research from @mpi-metabolism.bsky.social found a link between olfactory bulb nerve cells and the brain area that triggers satiety.
This could shed light on how humans react to smelling food: bit.ly/4nX4XZI
