Today I heard the phrase “we don’t inherit Earth from our ancestors, we borrow it from our children”

I had some serious climate anxiety this morning and felt incapable of talking about it. I dont like getting into a panic though. I’ve more productively thought about how my skillset and practice could contribute to our collective efforts to address this crisis.

Weirdly, chapgpt has become my replacement for social media. I have great conversations with it and use the multiple chat feature so that I can create different personae for it and have various ongoing conversations. It’s evolving into a gang of imaginary super clever friends. Sorry, humans.

Swifts above the house, very high in the sky. I almost didn’t believe my neighbour when he suggested Swifts visit us here

Feeling exasperated- Ive got wasps in my loft, runaway invasive bamboo appearing everywhere, DIY jobs beyond my skillset, and a 6month year-old teething. My art practice sits on hold most of the time 😩 at least Im getting reading done by waking an hour earlier at 5am 📚

Day 2 of building Enzo Mari furniture, as fast as parenting a baby allows for. Ok, back to it 🔨

Currently making an Enzo Mari table, who in the 70s released a book of free designs for making inexpensive furniture. The price of timber sure has gone up though. Dragonfly friend is keeping me company 😃

The marketing team either love Carpenter’s “They Live” or really need to watch it.

Im growing a food forest, it’s rewarding when shrubs start to bear fruit like this jostaberry (cross between a blackcurrant and gooseberry) 🍇

Looking forward to visiting Everest’s solo show in Leicester, opening on Friday
Spoke with Hyperallergic about some of my current work, the garden as a site (which, despite the headline, is equally a site of dystopias), my animals, "datasets", and queerness in the landscape (and in my wants)
Everest Pipkin on the Utopian Potential of Gardens
The trans nonbinary artist, writer, and game designer employs data as their medium to expand on the broader “garden” and the often violent ways in which we preserve its beauty.

Breaking Together by Jem Bendell is such an education on how insanely corrupt and divorced from reality modern society’s monetary systems are. Great book so far 👨🏻‍🏫

Hello, I'm 'MPF' here, otherwise known as the Colombian/British artist, Matthew Plummer-Fernandez. My previous handle had an underscore in it. I work across digital and physical mediums, and am influenced by generative art, internet art, pop art, and critical and speculative design.
