I'm a retro game geek who loves Japanese video games especially. MSX computers and game preservation are my passions.

I also livestream frequently at:
https://www.twitch.tv/themp83
I was also given a chance to ACTIONIZE my desktop, but I declined.

Heh, I'm apparently an official member of Team Action Man now. All I needed to do was watch some Action Man toy commercials and TV show clips, then play three simple mini-games. Thanks Action Man Mission CD!

Misread sprites in video games. This is Wang with his bo staff in Yie Ar Kung Fu (MSX/Famicom), or as I've always seen him: a big head with legs!

Hahah, nice! I love how video game sprites can be misread sometimes! 😄Here's how I've always seen the bald stick-holding enemy from Yie Ar Kung-Fu (NES/Famicom), for instance:

This one comes from the MSX2 version of Xak: The Art of Visual Stage. It's one of the unused border designs that you can only see by finishing the game and accessing the unused assets gallery (by waiting several minutes after the end credits).

When Broderbund and Kyodai (a joint venture involving 11 Japanese companies) released Ys I in the West, they published it for DOS and Apple IIGS. Both releases uses the same translation with full of weird name changes.
