Got into #CriticalRole back in lockdown during the midst of C2 and Caleb was my favorite of a stacked group of characters.
Fast forward to 2025 and seeing his backstory be brought to screen, and Notts 'parent child speech', I couldn't be friggin happier. What an episode!

Got into #CriticalRole back in lockdown during the midst of C2 and Caleb was my favorite of a stacked group of characters.

I can see why the second half of the musical is considered weaker. #WickedForGood is very chaotic in the first half in order to set the pieces for its crossover into the Wizard Of Oz. But the latter half really steadied the ship and Erivo and Grande are dynamite together!

Double feature of sequels today 🍿
As predicted the secret screening was #Pillion and beneath the leather latex and butts, it's a great character study of a timid man who grows in confidence through a niche kind of romance. Surprisingly sweet, and wickedly amusing at times, this is a solid character piece.

A little Oscar bait, some odd punchline moments, and a bit heavy handed at times. But when Malek, Shannon and ESPECIALLY Crowe get to perform, by god do they perform. I am now compelled to find Kelley's book, and appreciate the movie dared to show the monsters as human.
After feeling all movied out for a few days, it's double feature time! #Nuremburg followed by a secret screening that will most likely be Pillon. Interested to see how this turns out, but damn more movie posters like this please!

Edgar Wrights #TheRunningMan releases tomorrow! And in it he takes aim at the media, consumerism and deep fakes. Colman Domingo is the standout in this enjoyable yet underwhelming outing, that would have hit better had we not just had The Long Walk

When awards season rolls round, fully expect #SentimentalValue and Renate Reinsve to be in the conversation. This was my favorite film at LFF this year, and is arguably one of the years best all together!

Ok so the first half was a rough one (post opening scene), I get what the idea was but tonally felt like there was a little too much humour and too much going on. But boy did #PredatorBadlands deliver in that second half with it's incorporation of its setting and change of stakes tying it together!

In what might have provided the most wholesome scene this year, #LeftHandedGirl is well worth the view and is a solid directoral effort from Shih-Ching Tsous!

After Psycho the other week time to check off another blind spot 🍿
As much as I wanted to like Stuckman's #ShelbyOaks it unfortunately has too much going against it than for it. Inconsistent lighting, an elongated opening and a final 10 minutes that betrays a character's whole motivation sours what is a fine debut effort. I'm proud of him for achieving the dream.

The Boss of us all is finally being depicted on the big screen this Friday! Sadly despite Jeremy Allen White's best efforts, this is yet another musical biopic that plays it a little too safe.

My London Film Festival reviews could only begin with del Toro's #Frankenstein a beautifully shot tragedy of a creature, who never asked to be created, played brilliantly by Elordi, that DEMANDS to be seen on the biggest screen possible!

Whilst I enjoyed the performances in #GoodFortune and appreciated what it was trying to say, it's virtue singling feels very soulless considering the wealth of its cast and reminds us that films are just a fantasy, and that most of us are expected to just deal without comfort.
