Movement Remedies | DK Ciccone | Pilates for Pain in Edinburgh
@movementremedies.bsky.social
I help people with chronic pain reclaim strength, mobility and confidence in movement with a weight-neutral and compassion-focused approach. I'm a comprehensively trained Pilates instructor (NCPT) and published author/speaker.
Do you want that for yourself?

If you're in Edinburgh, you can grab one of the few client slots available in my #stockbridge studio.

If you're anywhere else, send me a DM to learn about my 7-day Meant to Move Foundations program in October.

My clients who have found a new relationship with movement did so after having given up completely. They thought for years that joyful, confident movement in their bodies were a thing of the past. Time and again, they proved themselves wrong. And now a whole new future is in front of them.

I find that when we acknowledge persistent pain, we open ourselves up to a seeking mindset. This isn't just a random ouch, there's something that is causing the brain to decide that there's sufficient threat of danger to respond with repeated pain. By naming, we shift to curiosity and to healing.

It's a big mental leap to go from "I have aches and pains now and then" to acknowledging that pain is chronic. Maybe assigning the label of "chronic pain sufferer" feels like admitting some kind of defeat; like accepting the state of discomfort as permanent.
