This book reminded me why I love reading nonfiction.

Another history book that taught me so much I didn’t learn in school. #historybook #historybooks #booksky

Summer is wrapping up and as much as I like spooky season I will miss this dearly. And yes, Mirrored Heavens was an exciting, beautiful, and innonvative ending to the Between Earth and Sky trilogy #booksky #blacksun

My second ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ romance read of this year. Takes one to know one was fun, heartfelt, and layered which is what I love in a romance. #booksky #romancebooks #fivestarreads

My stack of I need to finish. Anyone else? Short stories and poetry I just naturally go through slowly and then some nonfiction is very dense or slow going. Nothing against the books. I just need to wrap this up 😂. #booksky #readingcommunity

Best romance I’ve read in years. So many layers and depth to the characters. And the author has another romance coming in July! I’m so excited and ready. Standing ovation, ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ #booksky #romancebook #romancegirlie #readingcommunity

My 3rd 5 ⭐️ read of this year. Incredibly educational, inspiring, and engaging. Authors acknowledgements always get me teary eyed but this one had me full on crying. Her gratitude for many that helped this book was beautiful and her love for her husband I felt so deeply. #booksky #readingcommunity

Bell hooks is one of my fav nonfiction authors. Her teachings always make me think more critically. Place is something everyone can relate to and can come from place, religion, community, etc.bell hooks shows how we can find community in place through discussion, empathy, and understanding. #booksky

Checkerboard Hill by: Jade Kake, a Māori author of fiction and nonfiction. This beautiful novel follows Ria who gets a call from her family in Australia that there has been a loss in the family. With twists, slow reveals, complicated family dynamics, and memory flashbacks. #booksky #bookrecs

Happy Valentines Day! The lessons this movie and book taught me about love. Find someone patient enough to hear you out and explain themselves, admit when they are wrong and right those wrongs, absolutely devoted. And talking shit is always fun #prideandprejudice

I finished Checkerboard Hill last night. By Jade Kake (Māori), a fiction story of belonging, dislocation, misunderstandings, identity and fractured relationships. The slow reveals surprised me. Starting No country for Eight Spot Butterflies by Julian Aguon. Already so good! #booksky #reading
