The 2023 production by Tobias Kratzer for Deutsche Oper Berlin goes, if not all in, pretty far with this.

Just found the new version for reduced orchestra. Starts the same way. issuu.com/scoresondema...

8pm!

I think the Don Giovanni earlier on Saturday started at 1 PM.

Though what I found was the original score; I suppose it's possible Ruders decided to change it, but good parts of the vocal lines seem to be to be clearly written for acoustic singing

There are some electronics in the score, including a recorded message at the beginning. The first few lines are supposed to be amplified but that fades away and then (I think) none of the rest of the vocals are amplified

Are they singing with amplification?

(I ask because San Francisco Opera chose to do so, and I don't understand why)

Oh gross

It's amazing how insular people can be about their zone of power

The opera ended just before midnight; only the lead cast stuck around for bows

I suppose it's the right night to be taking a picture at the top of a set of stairs

What is his account.

Hulu (and ESPN+) are essentially add-on tiers of Disney+ now. You can get them bundled but if you had them separately before they merged the billing may still be separate

I guess I'd agree that it's "inoffensive." While it's a little befuddling when the audience applauds the sets beyond that they don't get in the way. I hadn't seen Arabella at the Met before, so the production was new to me.

Maybe they're planning on keeping it around for its decay to match the fading aristocrats, clinging to another world

Could you be thinking of the 2023 production by Tobias Kratzer for Deutsche Oper Berlin?
