The guy on twitter who doesn't think any meaning was lost when he ran Aristotle through chatGPT to "rework" the language to be easier to read is making my eye twitch. You are losing literal meaning when you take words out of a literary work to make it easier for you to read.

idk man the ‘difficult’ language in ‘difficult’ books is part of the point. don’t you WANT to learn to parse out interesting language and complex ideas? it’s all i wanted when i was a kid! i was so impatient for it!

The fluoride "debate" and the puberty blockers "debate" are the same in that we have decades of conclusive research as to each, but people still claim we "don't know enough about them" bc opponents specifically refuse to learn what they are/do

I think it's so strange that we didn't already have alcohol warning labels when we've known alcohol causes cancer for like, a long ass time ? Trying to parse through what is different now if anyone has insights I am not seeing in the news

Conservatives are funny bc what do you mean you're scared of "plant toxins" in 2025 ? All of the "toxins" listed are "to stop us from eating them" which isn't an issue bc we developed a digestive system that doesn't gaf if plants want to be eaten or not like ?

Remember people: not guilty does not mean "innocent". We know that man killed Jordan Neely, and we know he did it because Jordan was mentally ill, homeless, and Black in public. Nothing justifies being judge, jury, and executioner on a public subway.

I also can't get over the conservative justices favorably citing European laws about transgender health care when they vociferously refuse to consider other nation's laws and traditions when dealing with issues on which the U.S. is an outlier, like gun violence and the death penalty.

I don't get it - puberty blockers have been used and studied for DECADES even absent their use for gender dysphoria, there is no "emerging science" to wait for before settling the issue... jfc I know the answer is bigotry but come onnn at least pretend to have coherent arguments !
