I saw Iron Giant for the first time yesterday — I think I was always hesitant to watch because I knew I’d bawl my eyes out, and I was right, but ❤️😭 it was wonderful.

And the gorgeous animation — I couldn’t stop staring at the vibrant colors and skill it took to create this.

The Mimi was an actual 72-foot French-built sailboat from 1934, originally used as a cargo barge and later converted for fishing.

The series was created in response to a U.S. Department of Education proposal aimed at developing innovative science curricula for middle school students.

Voyage of the Mimi was a 1984 tv series following the crew of the ship Mimi as they explore the ocean and conduct a census of humpback whales 🐋

It was also one of Ben Affleck’s first acting roles.

I think about ⛵️“Voyage of the Mimi” from time to time, did anyone else watch this in school?
