Seeing how must open worlds are too wide and sprawly, though, I have to give it to linear experiences.

I always hated the "look at this rags to riches success story" bullshit surrounding her, and how it was often used as "proof" of how good her writing is.
The only thing that proves is that she lucked into a good agent. There are so many better fantasy writers than her, both before and after.
