Wahzhazhe Communications : Effective immediately, the Osage Nation Temporary SNAP Relief Program has been expanded beyond the Osage Nation Reservation to include all Osage households residing anywhere in the state of Oklahoma. Eligible Osage households currently enrolled in SNAP benefits are eligible to apply for a one-time $300 assistance payment per household. This supplemental relief will not impact or reduce existing SNAP benefits. TO APPLY: - Go to the Osage Nation Service Portal: https://mcsms.io/pQ7m2Q - Log in to the portal using your username and password - Click on the Osage Nation Crisis Assistance option - Click APPLY NOW - Select the option that states: I am experiencing a temporary interruption of my household SNAP benefit, as a result of the federal government shutdown. ELIGIBILITY: - Applicants must provide their Osage membership information. - Applicants must provide their benefit award letter along with their case number in the portal. The Financial Assistance Department has extended its office hours until 6 p.m. today. Please note that Osage Nation offices will be closed on Monday, Nov. 10, and Tuesday, Nov. 11, 2025, in observance of Veterans Day. Wahzhazhe Communications : OSAGE NATION TEMPORARY SNAP RELIEF | The Osage Nation is deeply concerned that some Osage households may lose SNAP benefits beginning on November 1, 2025. In response, Principal Chief Standing Bear has approved temporary additional resources for Osage Nation tribal citizens currently receiving SNAP benefits and living in the Osage Nation territory. Per USDA federal guidelines, Osages receiving SNAP must close their SNAP cases in order to qualify for the Food Distribution Program on Indian Reservations (FDPIR). In other words, Osage households must choose between receiving SNAP benefits or the FDPIR. As an alternative, Osage households may request a one-time payment of $300 per household from the Financial Assistance Department, which will avoid Osage households terminating their SNAP benefits. A Warning for KC renters: Housing Search A Warning for KC renters: Please be careful if you're dealing with companies called Trivet Homes LLC or Gigantic Real Estate Ventures in the Kansas City / Grandview area. I recently applied for a rental home through them, paid a deposit, and right before move-in they suddenly changed the terms and added extra fees. When I questioned it, they became aggressive and sent threatening messages after I started filing complaints and uncovering that these companies have been operating under different names for years. l've already filed reports with the Missouri Attorney General and local police because this looks like a long-running rental deposit scam. I'm posting this to see if anyone else has dealt with them - please speak up if you have. The more people who come forward, the easier it'll be for investigators to stop them. Stay safe and always double-check business registrations before handing over rental deposits. (No personal info shared. Just trying to prevent others from getting scammed.) Email from one of my favorite local shops KC Soda/Fountain City Scoops & Floats.
We made this Pink Pony float for last weekend's concert and it was a hit. You can still order it as a secret menu option if you would like. It was strawberry melon soda with vanilla or strawberry ice cream topped with whipped cream and glittery pink sprinkles. We're working on some float specials for this fall and winter as a new addition to our ice cream side (Fountain City Scoops & Floats). The aforementioned float that is a pink concoction with white whipped cream and pink sprinkles on top, in a clear plastic Fountain City Scoops & Floats cup.
