At the Grand Canyon, a display discussing the forced removal of Native American communities was taken down. In Glacier National Park, materials explaining the role of climate change in shrinking glaciers were also removed.

Signs referencing slavery, climate change, and Native American history have been removed from at least 17 national park sites in six states.

Quick history - Texas was part of Mexico until independence on March 2, 1836. Following Mexico's independence from Spain in 1821, Texas b/c part of the Mexican state of Coahuila y Tejas. After the Texas Revolution, Texas existed as an independent republic until joining the United States in 1845. 2/9
