The Athiest Atheist
@mostathy.bsky.social
Cool kids might remember me from the old bird site.

Smug, hate God, love to sin and post about #atheism because that's my entire personality.

Never sarcastic.

*Atheist Chicagoans Are Badass*
I'm waiting for the inevitable AI videos of "spontaneous demonstrations... voicing gratitude to [🍊🤡👑] for the new, happy life which his wise leadership has bestowed upon us."

Literally Orwellian.

"Hey, come on. You're taking [all that crazy stuff] out of context! Just pay attention to this handful of nice things Jesus—who totally really existed—definitely said!" 🤪

And ultimately, most atheists don't care if someone believes in a god—IF that belief a) makes them a good person and b) is kept to themselves, not pushed on others and definitely not used as a threat.

Let us "know you by your fruits," i.e. being a good person, not by proselytizing.

Ahh yes, I do remember that particular line of questioning, but seeing it from someone else... a Canadian, maybe? I think there was a flag in their name. But it is a simple and easy test for any god—that no believer can actually pass.

Bluesky definitely tends to be a bit of an echo chamber.

🤔 I don't remember those "three questions," but glad I could be a resource for you on your journey.

Definitely a different vibe here... atheists are perfectly fine as long as they're fervent supporters of Jesus and his True Followers and don't, y'know, talk about atheism.

Yep. That was me.

Ah yes, I've been down that rabbit hole, like how no ✝️ ever took the Biblical creation myth seriously... They knew it was just a story but they had to have the story cuz they didn't have science yet.

And look, if you stand far enough away and squint just right, it's just like science found out! 🙄

You don't even have to read the whole book.

Just take the Jesus part, the gospels, and try to make one coherent timeline of the most important person in Christianity's life, teachings, and death/resurrection.

But, of course, some Christians will chime in to tell you how wrong you are because that's not what their sect teaches... then other Christians will jump in to say those Christians are wrong—or at least "misinterpreting" whatever passage.

Almost like the Bible can be whatever the reader wants.

Don't have a magical piece of cloth? It's OK:

"They brought forth the sick into the streets, and laid them on beds and couches, that at the least the shadow of Peter passing by might overshadow some of them... and they were healed every one."
Acts 5:15-16

When do we see the basement?

"So that from his [Paul's] body were brought unto the sick handkerchiefs or aprons, and the diseases departed from them, and the evil spirits went out of them."
Acts 19:12

Don't forget, back in Biblical times, evil spirits were still a leading cause of illness and death.
