In college I lived in a garage "apartment" (literally a garage they had added a fridge to and called it good) and I used to make stove top on my little camping stove. One of my favorite struggle meals of my college era. Brings back memories.

It is on Greene, and only Greene, to do the work to become a good person. Also, it is important to note that forgiveness is NOT the same thing as trust. And you can give forgiveness and not give trust.

A racist changing is not dependent upon having contact with the people they have harmed. It is not dependent on forgiveness from the people they have harmed. It is not on black people to put themselves in harm's way so a bigot can practice being a decent human being. To expect that is highly unfair.

And the knowledge of *how* to cook. there are a lot of people who never learned how to cook, and trying to learn when you're tired from working all day and your kids are hungry? Not easy.
