Marguerite Higgins (1920-1966) was an intrepid journalist and war correspondent who covered WWII, Korea & Vietnam, blazing a trail for women in the field. Premier Mossadegh, who granted a number of interviews to Higgins, once gifted her a Persian rug, which she did not accept. #Iran

Oil Nationalization Day
The law nationalizing oil in Iran passed in the Majles on March 20, 1951. It was ratified with the parliamentary election of Premier Mossadegh in April and completed with the Shah’s signature on May 1st. #Iran
