Yesterday I finished a second draft of my horror screenplay set in rural Georgia on an old prison farm.

I think it’s some of my best writing.

I sent it for a Blacklist evaluation. Fingers crossed.

Good news: I just finished my horror feature screenplay

Bad news: it’s not even 70 pages.

Time to do some brainstorming. lol

I had a great writing streak this morning. I’m working on a Deep South horror script.

I’m undergoing chemotherapy so my energy levels are low. Since starting chemo I can usually only 2-4 pages a day. Today I wrote 16!

I’m so happy!

Doing more research on demons. This time I just finished The Devils & Evil Spirits of Babylonia, edited by R. Campbell Thompson.

It’s a bi-lingual edition of ancient Babylonian plates.

Great info about demons and Babylonian religion in general.

As research for a script, I just finished reading The Testament of Solomon

It’s from the 1st to the 5th centuries. It contains a catalogue of demons Solomon enslaved to build the First Temple.

This printing contains a number of typos but I enjoyed it immensely nonetheless

My brain is torn in two.

Should I revise my Holiday Romcom? Or should I continue outlining my Deep South Horror script?

They’re so different!

I just finished this beautiful graphic novel biography, The Incantations of Daniel Johnston by artist Ricardo Cavolo and writer Scott McClanahan

I couldn’t put it down!

I just finished this amazing book, The Origin of Consciousness in the Break Down of the Bicameral Mind by Julian Jaynes.

It puts forth the theory that consciousness developed just 3000 years ago.

The theory includes the origins of religion, science, schizophrenia, poetry and music.

As research for a new script, I just finished this fun collection of literature about the Mojave.

True Tales of the Mojave Desert: from Talking Rocks to Yucca Man edited by Peter Wild

It captures the wild nature of the desert. I recommend it!

Last night was a cool experience for me: I watched my first short film on the big screen at the Chinese Theater in Hollywood as part of the Silicon Beach Film Festival.

Ours was the least expensive short shown by a lot, but it stood up well against the better-funded films.

I’m currently undergoing chemotherapy and my writing has become a lot harder. Where I used to be able to write 10 pages a day, now I get 2-3.

I’m celebrating, however, because I’m finally happy with my outline and am 10 pages into my holiday romcom

Does anyone need a Bluesky code? I have extras. Would love to see some more screenwriters and filmmakers on here.

Hi #scriptsky !
I’m new here but just wanted to share some good news. I wrote/directed my first short (late bloomer) this spring. So far it has been accepted into two festivals!

In Jan I was diagnosed w/ cancer. Naturally my mind turned to death. This film is the result of those (comic) musings.

Researching for a new script, I just finished this fun book from Australia in the 90s: The Complete Blokes & Sheds by Mark Thomson

Although it is really a novelty book, I found it full of meaning.

I just finished this gorgeous book, Oasis: Modern Desert Homes Around The World by iO Tillett Wright.

I started it looking for locations to shoot, and finished it for fun. Some beautiful homes in here.

LA friends! Save the date!

My short film, A GIFT TO THE LIVING, will be screened as part of the Silicon Beach Film Festival!

When: September 8
Where: the Chinese Theater in Hollywood

Logline: an independent young woman returns home, hoping to come out to her religious grandfather before he dies

I woke up to great news! My first short film, A GIFT TO THE LIVING, was selected for inclusion in the Washington DC International Cinema Festival. It is up for “Best Narrative Short” and “Best LGBT Short”
In June I directed my first short film and it is heading to the festival circuit!

Earlier this year I was diagnosed with stage 3 cancer. My thoughts naturally turned to death. This film is the fruit of those (often funny) ruminations.

I just finished The Book of the Sacred Magic of Abramelin the Mage translated by S. L. MacGregor Mathers

This is the magic system Aleister Crowley adapted for his own system.

It is fascinating.

As research for a new film project, I just finished this informative little book: Joshua Tree National Park by Joseph W. Zarki.

I wasn’t aware of the park’s history of cattle-rustling, or how pervasive mining was.
