He did a and not b. I submit that we should drag Elon for far more heinous things than this, and there is a lot to choose from.

In honor of the day, I turned this idea into an infographic.

Jamelle has a good example here (the pic is the same as the link)

Some data when you have none can be helpful as a candidate or party - there are going to be some signals you want to respond to.

But when you *target* data, it's going too far, creating bad outcomes. 1/2

There's culture, but there's also slowing growth rates, e.g. in saas there's not much to go around lately and businesses were built expecting endless growth.

Everyone is fixated on the children’s hospital thing but “children weren’t sick” is by far the more ignorant statement.

Children dying used to be horrifically more common, even in America and even in Rob’s time.

Ah yes one of two guys who still insist in 2025 that lidar is a head fake - I definitely want to know what he has to say about timelines and solving problems.

Can we also get someone from the Mars by 2021 team to weigh in?

I briefly extolled the return of multi-tasking with vibe coding, but only having Sonnet 4.5 right now from Anthropic (vs Opus) available means everything happens too quickly to switch away.

claude.ai/imagine/ is a great demonstration anyone can use. Working html prototypes in handfuls of seconds.

There's a third thing implied by your antidote: overconfidence.

In practice, there is *great* uncertainty involved, which is admitted by everyone (excluding perhaps Miri) and you act within knowledge of that uncertainty.

This shouldn't need to be said, but coal is failing in the year 2025 because it is more expensive than alternative solutions. You can't polish this lump.
