Swatching to choose the right yarn for my sweater project, the High Lonesome by designer Caitlin Hunter @boylandknitworks.bsky.social

This is what the reverse side looks like using a fake in the round swatch method with long floats along the back. I have definitely noticed it makes a difference to my swatch gauge to use this method instead of knitting flat when I will be knitting the project in the round.

Swatching using @kelbournewoolens.bsky.social Lucky Tweed for a sweater project. I’m using 5.5 mm needles for some extra drape. I’m really pleased with the fabric.

I mend because:
- I can extend the life of my garment, which is better for the planet than recycling, and possibly even re-use in many cases.
- I can be creative.
- I enjoy defying gender roles around the skill of mending, and interest in it.
