All I want for Xmas is mittenz

Analytics by trade and a past life fighting Memphis crime with data. Ranting half-baked passing thoughts to myself and getting it out of my system before I ruin Thanksgiving dinner. I don’t claim to be right, but only the cat can judge me.
People don’t understand how much creativity and intuition goes into tech work. But they’re about to find out when products turn to crap.

It excelled at finding specific things I was looking for - who did what when? Did I leave anyone out? But innuendo, cadence, *creativity* was completely lacking

THIS is why I emphasize the limitations of LLMs. It had all my source material, but its algorithm couldn’t adapt to refinements; it kept repeating the same thing over and over. And it sucks at being funny. At most it found my best humor, which inspired some inside jokes.

There are a lot of big questions at play here, but the most fundamental might be: what is the point of college?

But at the very least, someone is wailing on their knees, “why god, of all the videos, why this one? Why the one that has the whole world asking if we committed a war crime? How could you let me fall because of a drunk tv personality with a bomb fetish?”

(Wouldn’t surprise me if it was in fact illegal, everyone knew it was illegal, but no one objected because this is SOP, it’s just kept far far away from the public eye. In which case someone is really shitting themselves.)

So then they’ll know how many people:
1. have to have insurance no matter the cost
2. can’t miss one month, no matter the cost
3. Will suck it up and pay full price

Plus the coverage relative to cost that that market will bear.

Which is a decent proxy metric for how desperate ppl are.

Last call open enrollment ends 1/15 to begin on 2/1. Everyone who absolutely has to have insurance. No more playing coy for the pols, what’s done is done.

Open enrollment to keep benefits Jan 1 ends on 12/15. We’ll know how many ppl will pay full sticker price knowing there will be no subsidy bc they can’t miss one month.

Dems caved exactly one week after open enrollment began. That’s one week of data on how many ppl will pay full sticker price no matter what. Curious if they were fed data on how many *healthy* ppl signed up.

So other than P2025, what lobby benefits? I can’t think of any. All I can come up with is a ruling class full of ideologues that have overestimated themselves. And we’re heading to a bandaid-ripping moment.

P2025 obv has its agenda repealing ACA, but surely they’re smart enough to recognize that ppl don’t know how good they’ve got it til it’s gone, and when it’s gone they’ll kick the ruling party to the curb? So they can’t straight up cut it?

The super long game would be to make the health industry collapse under its own weight, leading to universal healthcare. But the ones fighting the subsidies are definitely not aiming for that.

It’ll make people beholden to employers for health benefits, but even that doesn’t track. Don’t want to get fired, but another employer is out there. And eventually the burden on employers won’t be worth the trade off because it’s getting more expensive for them too.
