Of course, candidates are busy on the campaign trail, so we kept it simple with three easy questions about the proposed replacement for plan change 78, which would enable #MoreHomes close to jobs and transport.

In a good news story, Plan Change 99 passed!

This plan change *upzones* the site of the proposed “bedroom commuter” apartments in Beach Haven, to enable three storey development and provide a new pathway forward for ~81(!!!) new homes close to frequent buses + local amenities🔥

Your submission can be as simple as you like, just say what you like about the development or why you think it’s a good thing. Whatever you say, it will help get this one over the line, & the ball rolling on the rest of the corridor, which is a great place to build homes 💪🏗️🏙️

In our view, this is the type of development we should be allowing along the entire length of Dominion Rd, and across the rest of the central isthmus. It being notified is a prime example of how the Unitary Plan simply does not appropriately enable development in this location.

It is also on 2 frequent bus routes & the development will add 5 new commercial premises, to support the growth of the local centre. 🫡

So, where is this proposed development?
It’s located in the heart of the Valley Road shops on Dominion Rd, opposite a major supermarket with dozens of local shops, eateries, plus pharmacies, doctors & schools within a short walk.
