Documenting my adventures and the food along the way!
We went back to the Expo to see Cirque Ma'Ceo. I have mixed opinions on the show. The people are very talented performers, but just some things about the riding and equipment used aren't my cup of tea. I am not a professional though, so I don't want to elaborate without more experience on my end.

Lots of vendors, and we did buy a couple things, but NO GLUTEN FREE FOOD? I wasn't too surprised but was still bummed. We left and found a place called Tazā in Chanhassen. It was amazing, but gf knowledge could've been better. I didn't take a picture, but stole one from their menu to show how yummy.

5 years being married to the love of my life ❤️ We went to Lovechild in La Crosse and had an amazing experience. I ate ribeye with marchand de vin sauce and potatoes fondant. Paired with a lovely glass of Moscato d’Pavia, Centorri, Lombardi, Italy 2023.

Last day in NOLA was crazy. Browsed the French Market and ran into Ed Sheeran who started a parade in the street!! After then we had lunch as Mais Arepas and it was AMAZING. First time eating empanadas since I can't eat gluten. The arepas were amazing. Then a chaotic airport experience, but home 💕

Bonus photos of the shark, lionfish, and other giant fish I can't remember the name of :)

They also had penguins, ducks, and a free flying macaw! We didn't find him but the area he could fly around was huge, so I am not surprised. We stumbled upon the penguins being fed. We also discovered UPSIDE DOWN JELLYFISH? (last photo-not great quality)

My favorites at any aquarium are the stingrays and jellyfish.

The Audubon Aquarium was included with the same ticket we bought for the Insectarium. The pictures didn't turn out as great due to the reflections, but they have some very unique exhibits.

They had their share of creepy crawleys too, so I know the Insectarium isn't for everyone. But I loved it!
March 15, 2025 at 8:16 PM
They had an amazing butterfly room as well.

After that we went to the Audubon Insectarium. My favorite photos I took, you can't even tell how many bugs there actually are in the photos! We thought there praying mantis was really well hidden, until we realized they were hiding on the top of the enclosure.

Speaking of art, there was so many beautiful pieces by local artists. We bought some photographs and a drawing from artists in Jackson Square/French Market. We went to Bons again - this time getting Gumbo and Hot Honey Chicken and Waffles.

Day 3 in NOLA: We did the hop on hop off bus tour to get a summary of things in the area. The tour guides were hard to hear, but still fun. One of my favorite things about the city is that there is art everywhere!

We finished the night off with an AMAZING burlesque show at The AllWays Lounge & Cabaret performed by the Van Elle Bordella. I don't think I've laughed that hard in a long time. And then late night pizza at Pizza Luna.

Again with me and trees!! I think I fell in love with the swamp. The first photo is actually marked on Google Maps as a site of inspiration for a scene in the move "The Princess and the Frog".

After eating alligator, we took a swamp tour and were able to see real ones!!

Bon's Street food was our next stop. We ordered so much food! Everything sounded amazing, and we couldn't choose. We were in a rush, so I didn't snap many photos. However, we tried Gumbo Tacos, Gator Street Corn (real alligator), fried frog legs (photo included), and more calas (they are so good).

Even just walking around New Orleans, you are surrounded by art.
March 14, 2025 at 4:43 AM
The garden included beautiful artwork.
March 14, 2025 at 4:43 AM
The Museum even had a garden area we could access.
March 14, 2025 at 4:43 AM
From there, we took a walk to the African American Museum/Calas Cafe. Calas are type of sweet rice fritters. Apparently, calas were used by slaves to bargin with as they didn't have much else. The gentleman at Calas Cafe said they are the original "freedom food".

For some reason, I am obsessed with how beautiful the trees are down here.
March 14, 2025 at 4:43 AM
The park itself was beautiful.
March 14, 2025 at 4:43 AM
We had a fun time looking up species of wildlife that weren't familiar to us.
