Ignorant Canadian leftist
Hands down one of the most useless guests on the pod.

Unwillingness to speak to the modern times without both sides-ing, complete disconnect from anyone but the ultra wealthy, and ending on useless aphorisms about “well it was hard when I graduated too”.

His generation has cooked us.

You really need to bring on an AI skeptic, to get a new perspective on things. Y’all are going way too far with the AI hype at times, and need to balance things off with a new perspective.

GPT 5 is here, this is mature tech now, and it’s still shit. OpenAI is burning money and the planet.

My desire to share Prof G context and watch it has gone down considerably due to Scott’s uncritical view of Israel’s conduct in Gaza, and the recent attacks in Iran

I never figured he’d become such a warhawk so quickly

“Look how precise the bombs are”

Jesus, that’s the easy part - and has been since the gulf war

Again, depressing seeing you turn into such a war hawk.

I guess you intend to sign up your own boys for the next time the US has boots in the ME?

Genuinely disappointed by your recent takes RE Iran, Israel, Netanyahu, etc

No ability to criticize Israel for its numerous faults, and literally falling for the same pre-Iraq war talking points

But no no, I’m sure this time regime change will be easy

Damaged facilities can be repaired

The Iran Nuclear deal sought to use diplomacy and easing sanctions to lower temperatures and give the world more economic leverage on Iran, in exchange for growing prosperity in Iran.
This is a far more permanent solution than rah rah bomb go boom

Was shocked to see your lack of pushback, any reference to all the ways the IDF has fucked up, the settlements as crimes against humanity, etc

And running with “but Iran has WMDs” is wild in a post Iraq war world
June 16, 2025 at 6:17 PM
This episode was a huge blow to my respect for you @profgalloway.com

I really appreciate your perspective on topics like wealth inequality, raising young men, etc

But this one just missed the mark - Israel is killing children in preposterous numbers with precision bombs

Are we even sure these morons are talking about Rolls Royce cars or Rolls Royce jet engines?

Cause reporting on this keeps talking about RR engines… and that makes me think aero engines not car.

I was in Pierre Poilievre’s riding

Nothing he was proposing was appealing as a 30 year old

The crown corp to build houses is genuinely something with historical precedent to get excited about. Hell, it’s something I’ve written the housing minister asking for a couple times.

- try to find some issues that get early bipartisan support going. Maybe Cons will support modifying gun buyback, but also support BCH. Explain to Canadians why the proposed buyback was flawed, and propose better options.

But honestly, thanks for beating Poilievre. God he sucks.

- repeating for emphasis, build more damn homes. Every week I look at the Ontario housing tracker and weep as almost all regions show up red.
- streamline doctors and skilled/ needed professions on immigration. American doctor and wanna come? Here’s an approval.

- HS rail QC to TO. Employ the youth with good jobs, government pension years, and support domestic steel producers
- Massive CAF funding increases. Expand our reserve forces, with an emphasis on disaster recovery (and some combat capability). Assume the US will invade if they go into recession.

This is my riding

I have never been more proud of my rural Ottawa (and suburban Ottawa) neighbours

There was an option to do something absolutely hilarious - and we took it

Carney did something impressive - including getting me to donate for the first time. And I’m a broke 30 year old.

I’m an aerospace engineer

LLMs are fundamentally useless for anything more serious than emailing Bob my well wishes for his retirement.

Worse than that, it is confidently, dangerously wrong on actual engineering work.

I fear the fool who uses these tools, and gets someone hurt.
