If you have a Kindle, there's a site called Bookbub. Sign up (free) and they'll send you daily emails listing a couple of Free or super cheap books you can download. I filled up 2 Kindles to capacity as I downloaded all the free ones. Are they the best quality of books? Not usually, but they're free

Yup. Some well-knowns even do it ad a side gig, often with an alias. It forever amazes me how sometimes even the poorest quality book can be improved by the right voice actor.

You listen to audio waves while following along in the book text. You note the discrepancies between the two on a spreadsheet which will eventually be sent along with the problem-highlighted text and an audio wave of sections of those individual mistakes to the narrator for rerecord. Best job ever.

That and you're keeping folks like me, an audiobook proofreader, employed. So, thank you all for my paycheck!
