Hilariously, they're even desperately trying to give the Republicans credit for the government "shutdown" as though shutting down the government were a bad thing at this point. It's got to be a full time job for the GOP to stay worse.

I may just pivot back to programming (or "programming"). The skills I polished describing software precisely and carefully are now "programming" skills! Carefully instructive and unambiguous English (combined with software know-how) makes it easy to get exactly what I need from Claude.

I'd been nervous about the oncoming AI tsunami as a technical writer in the software industry because I could see that pretty soon AI will be able to document software as well or better than any human can.

But now I think I've got an escape route...
