They don’t make em like they used to. Well they do but not with this much style. Just an atmospheric, tense flick that just never stops. Redford and Dunaway are great together and Von Sydow is just a merciless bastard and is great. If you can find it check it out. 8/10 #moviesky

An incredible film and my favorite from Redford. Just top to bottom amazing cast and direction with a still timely story about true events that really hit home. An absolute classic and a must see from my view. 9/10 #moviesky

New year and new theme this time focusing on an individual actor or director each month. This month Robert Redford who we lost last year but left a legacy of great flicks with this being one of theme. It’s the movie behind the meme and it’s bloody and tense and great. It’s on Tubi. 8/10 #moviesky

Well to wrap up the year a movie I had never seen yet knew all about. One thing that took me by surprise is until late in the movie there’s not much Xmas here and yet it’s considered an all timer and rightfully so. I enjoyed it immensely and get why it’s so beloved. 9/10 #moviesky

The original has never been my favorite so this sequel didn’t have to much for me to live up to. With that being said it’s fun it’s light and it’s perfectly fine. Doesn’t try anything new and is mostly just a rehash. I guess if you’re tired of the usual picks on tv you could go worse. 6/10 #moviesky

It was always going to be a challenge to follow up a classic and yet they pulled it off. The story is small but on a grand scale with great characters, locations, and themes. Any negatives? Well side missions can get repetitive but that’s my only complaint. 9/10 #videogamesky

Yeah…. There’s not a whole lot to say here. The original was decent enough with the ladies having great chemistry, but that can’t save this one. It’s dumb it’s crass it’s predictable. There’s way better Xmas movies out there pass on this one. 5/10 #moviesky

With the original being one of my Xmas favorites my expectations were low… Why? Reviews were bad and by no means is this a classic but it’s not bad. Biggest problem here is it’s just more of the same. Still fun just not original. Best part is Kathy Bates who’s great. Rest is fine. 7/10 #moviesky

Well in this final month focusing on holiday movies rather then a year. This sequel to a Christmas movie…. Is solid. It has tons of action and a decent villian just missed the mark sometimes by for starters rehashing characters and scenarios. 7/10 #moviesky

This really was one of the best movies in an absolutely stacked year. Hanks here is great as always with great directing and characters too. 9/10 #moviesky

From the director of …. Robocop?! Comes an earnest albeit insane movie. This is the definition of a fun bad movie. It’s corny, weird, and at times downright embarrassing. Still it’s entertaining and means well it’s just a mess of a story and thin characters. 5/10 #moviesky

I was always led to believe that this was an awful movie and while by no means is it some hidden gem I have always had a soft spot for it. It has lots of good action and some good comedic notes. If someone told me they hated this movie I get it I just don’t mind it. 6/10 #moviesky

This month diving into 1995 with a movie that shouldn’t work at all but is a lot of fun with an all time soundtrack. The premise is thin but they make up with fun effects and tons of action that matched the games at the time. It’s a perfect party movie. 6/10 #moviesky

Awesome poster and premise aside I’d say this is an average Friday experience. The positives we see some of the best action and effects from not only the franchise but the decade. On the downside a cool premise goes nowhere and falls flat with nothing characters. 5/10 #moviesky

A rare sequel that adds a lot to the lore and the characters themselves. That’s uncommon with most sequels as just a change of scenery and adding a character or two is all that done. Here we learn more about Pinhead and get a lot of gore too. That’s what you want with a horror sequel. 7/10 #moviesky

Well this is what happens when your make four movies in four years… inconsistency. There’s still some good stuff here with Robert England still great as Freddy and as usual great kills, but the story is flat and frankly it’s hard to care about these characters. #moviesky

This month I’m back to a singular year and 1988 was one of the biggest years in horror history. With 5 major releases put out. First up is arguably the best out of the bunch which I’ve covered before and it still holds up incredibly well. Great scares and effects make Chucky an icon. 8/10 #moviesky

Easily the best of the knockoff Jaws movies. It’s fun it’s goofy and gross and mean. That all has to do with Joe Dante. He’s made for these types of things and makes a thin plot into a decent movie. Yeah it’s corny and low budget but worth checking out. 6/10 #moviesky

Another Bear related horror movie that’s just a straight up ripoff of jaws. The concept is decent but boy is this movie boring. I was dozing in and out of it towards the end but stay till the end because its insane! 5/10 #moviesky

Don’t let this bright colorful poster fool you this is an ugly movie. It’s also goofy as shit and it’s hard to take serious when an earnest message about effects of corporations coincide with a mutant puppet bear. I’ll give it credit for trying just doesn’t nail the landing. 6/10 #moviesky

Don’t let my rating fool you this is about as good as a ripoff movie as there is but it’s still objectively terrible. A few years after Jaws we get Orca with a plot straight out of Jaws 4. It’s bad it’s fun it’s insane… that’s my tagline for that lengthy poster above. 5/10 #moviesky #spookyseason

This has to be the longest/worst movie of any genre I’ve ever sat through. It’s 2.5 hrs long and boy is it boring. Michael Caine is an absolutely lunatic and I thought Henry Fonda was gonna fall asleep. There’s one great train sequence and that’s it. Avoid at all costs. 5/10 #moviesky #spookyseason

This movie is more of a trivia note then anything with it being the first PG - 13 movie. I will say it does have one hell of a cast and some good action but ultimately is fairly underwhelming. Just too many characters many so many dumb decision. 6/10 #moviesky

From one of my favorite directors comes a hidden gem. Carpenter gets a heap of praise for his vision and weirdness in other genres but here he brings the weird in a drama. It’s not a romcom it’s about loss and exceptence and how one moves on from pain. It’s excellent. 8/10 #moviesky

This movie always came off like a mythical quest. Always wanted to watch it but could never find it. Did this summer and it’s every bit as good as I heard. This is the best performance I’ve ever seen from Stanton wjth great performances across the board. One of the best of the decade. 9/10 #moviesky
