Senator Corey Booker is demonstrating the leadership we have been crying for! If you haven't been listening to him filibuster like a CHAMP for more than 21 hours now, watch now while you can, or watch recordings that start to surface. It is a balm to my soul.

I do not care about the price of groceries!!! STOP THE COUP!!!
Rep Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY) to ABC:

“We were told that grocery prices would go down on day one, on January 20. Costs aren't lower, in fact, costs are increasing. The price of eggs is skyrocketing out of control”

I watch what’s happening right notes in my country and I seriously think, “is this really happening? Am I going insane and imagining this? This must be a fever nightmare…”

I think I’m finally coming out of a months-long bewilderment and deciding on concrete actions that I can take and ways I can take my stand. It feels good.

Every day I am thankful for Dr Heather Cox Richardson and the independent journalists who have been documenting the events of the past 10 years. These writings, if preserved, will form the foundations of archival research for future historians

And the story they tell will not treat us kindly.

Thank you, Bishop Maryann, for demonstrating to us the way of Christian compassion in the face of despotic tyranny and unhinged greed. You were surely put in your position for such a time as this. May all Christ followers be encouraged by your example and take to that path.

Rebecca Solnit: “They want you to feel powerless and surrender and let them trample everything and you are not going to let them. You are not giving up, and neither am I. The fact that we cannot save everything does not mean we cannot save anything and everything we can save is worth saving.”

Good morning!

Happy Tuesday.

Be kind, be decent, but don't take a drip of shit from anyone.
Rise, shine, and have the day you need.

Nearly 400 books removed from school libraries in one Tennessee county. Based on my skim of the list, most of them appear to be books by women, authors of color, &/or LGBTQ+ authors.
