A bit of handle shaping with a rasp today.

Clamped in the form. There are never enough clamps. The orange Jorgensen clamps are the best for price, function, and force.

Best glue spreader I have. It’s cheaply made from an old wet paint roller dried inside a caulk tube. The dried glue peels off easily.

Roughed out some net handles on the bandsaw. Crabapple, mountain ash, and lacewood.

A plastic bag drying rack I made out of some cherry scrap. The dowels can be assembled into holes in the base for storage. The knobs are 1” diameter and were purchased at Lee Valley but they have since been discontinued. The last photo is the drilling pattern for the base.

Sourdough Cinnamon Rolls

My first time making cinnamon buns. Not quite as good as Freson Brothers, but still good.
I didn’t have any milk for the glaze so I used sour cream (not sawdust ;)

This carving on top of the tree is pretty magical. It’s on the tree to the right of the sign in your photo at the south end of the bridge.

If you have the chance, go see this guy. It’s his final tour and I guarantee you will enjoy it. Edmonton date is the Maclab Centre in Leduc.

If you happen to have a leaking pipe in your century home and the plumber can’t get to you quickly, a piece of bike tube, copper pipe cut in half, and a couple of clamps can seal the leak. There haven’t been any drips in a week. Although I did have to cut a hole in the wall.

New to me jointer. I was considering an old Rockwell or helical benchtop model when this appeared for a good price. I just need to pick up some new knives.

The chatoyance of maple. It looks amazing in person.

A little drawer in a little desk. Finger jointed quilted maple with chestnut burl (?) veneered bottom.

Net # 12 was made with a 14.5” lacewood handle with the wood grain oriented 90 degrees to the handle from net #9. The hoop is made from strips of walnut, wenge, maple, and mahogany. I found a black stone in the garden that I crushed, mixed with epoxy, and filled in to the engraved mayfly.
