Works to encourage others to write their past for the future - you have a story. Loves history, cultures, poetry and cats. Books: Battlefield Doc (Korean War), Cherry Blossoms in Twilight (Japan WWII) memoirs. I blog at moonbridgebooks.com
It's #VeteransDay honoring all veterans - something we can all agree on. My #KoreanWar vet friend was thrilled to have his frontline notes made into a book of stories. He was a medic, amazingly survived, but wanted to honor the fighting soldiers on the ground and all they went through. #memoir

Leftovers. Ahead of the hard freeze, I picked all the Italian peppers and stuffed them. Two trays full. #stlwx #freezewarning #whatsforsupper

My interesting and delicious dessert at an event the other night. Strings of matcha-flavored soft mochi cover a cream filling on a sponge cake base, by the best Japanese caterers. (Compostable plates & spoons preferred by the venue.) #dessert #matcha

A lot more monarchs popped out today! (There are a lot of us crazy people who help the caterpillars live and grow in safety)

Rainbow today. In Japanese folklore, a sunshower means a white fox wedding procession is happening nearby. Strange lights in the forest, distant laughter, are from the celebration. (My mom told me fox stories) #japan #culture #folklore #hyakumonogatori #yokai #supernatural #familystories

The "viral" ice cream tastes very good and is so cute! Made in China so get it before you feel the tariffs.

Pastor Katie on Fire got a standing O for her #Pentecost sermon today - how often does that happen for a pastor! And the choir was magnificent! Breathe on me breath of God - which is for everyone, everywhere, no matter who or what or where. God loves and includes all. #HappySunday!

Tibby rallied, but I now check to see if she's still breathing. Age 21 on 3 legs. To everything there is a season. #Caturday #catstories #eldercat

Today is not just for grilling and parties. Spare a thought for history and for those who laid down their lives to protect us #MemorialDay (Normandy American Cemetery)

Every year Misery GOP works to change the people's votes if they don't like it - by trickery, dictating, or dawdling/messing up. This year doing it with 2 different vote results... more in the works. Do not move here if you like having a voice and a vote. #Missouri

It's Mother's Day weekend. Do you know the stories of your mother's early years? Those stories can help you understand your mother better. We are affected not just by our own upbringing but also our parents' upbringings. The past affects the present and future. #MotherDay #lifestories #lifewriting

What I've been working on lately - Japanese "hariko" - hollow paper mache critters. These have a bell inside. I have all summer to make more for a group fundraiser to sell at our big Japanese Festival over Labor Day weekend. #crafts #Japan #artsandcrafts

Would you be cheering at the Roman Empire's parade of hard power or would you be a part of the Jesus parade of love, hope, justice and peace. Hosanna - save us, deliver us. #PalmSunday #HappySunday

No it is not. But the store was unusually crowded for the middle of the day on a weekday, parking lot pretty full.
