currently reading Elizabeth Gaskell’s Mary Barton and struggling. on Chapter 8 and enjoying it so far, but i’m very tired and Gaskell’s writing style does not work well with my sleepy brain. far too descriptive for me to stay engaged right now but i’m a dozen chapters behind in class

at callbacks for the first musical i’ve ever auditioned for as the role of a grandmother in said musical, and an older lady who i know has theatre experience just walked in for callbacks. there goes my shot for scoring a role 🥲
