Texas House School Voucher Hearing—Representative Bryant: If we wanted to get to 25th even in per pupil spending that would require $30 billion. The entire surplus of the state of Texas in 2023 was because of underfunding public schools in comparison to the rest of the country. #txlege

Texas House Voucher Hearing— @jamestalarico.bsky.social: If the point of this bill is to give low-income families the choice to attend private school, then why don’t we put an income cap on the bill so our tax dollars are not going to millionaires/billionaires to send their kids to private schools?

Texas has been underfunding public schools for years and held any new funding hostage last year for vouchers. If Abbott really cared about teacher pay raises and being number one in education, he sure has a funny way of showing it for the past 10 years he’s been the governor. #StateoftheState

Do republicans have a line of when they will step in to stop this coup or are they just going to watch it all burn down around them?

The best thing about finally cutting cable? My father-in-law couldn’t figure out how to work all the streaming services and couldn’t watch Fox News while here for the holidays.

Libraries matter now more than ever. They stand for the powerful idea that knowledge is free and belongs to everyone. In a time when books and free thought are under threat, we must defend and support our libraries and librarians—they are guardians of access, learning, and freedom.

This was absolutely the right thing to do.
Joe Biden is a good & decent man. He is a public servant who has always strived and try to do what he believes is best for all.

Joe Biden is also an amazing father.

Today, he did what was best… what was right… what was just.

A failed president who incited a coup attempt and then was found liable of sexual assault and then was convicted of felonies won the popular vote and electoral college. I still haven’t seen a satisfactory explanation. Probably never will.

Every single school should have a library & a librarian, to help every single child find the books that will make them readers, and give them all the lifelong benefits of literacy. Libraries & librarians change children's lives FOREVER!

Aw how embarrassing for Paxton. 🤭
While Trump was announcing Pam Bondi as his new AG nominee, Steve Bannon was pushing Ken Paxton, further demonstrating that Trump no longer cares what he has to say. Paxton is on here groveling and begging for the job he isn’t getting, but doesn’t realize yet.
